Fun fact: If you need to diagnose a network connection, the fastest way to ping is using `ping 1.1` - the utility automatically inserts two missing zeroes.

short rant about expectations
One thing that came to my realization this evening is that life as a whole is actually much, much easier if you don't live to fulfill someone else's vision, because they told you that "I'd do X in your situation" or "I'd give a lot to be where you stand".
Until a few months ago, I was frequently getting texts like these from a few people. Now that I cut/reduced contact with them, I don't find myself constantly thinking that I have to do something because someone else told me to.
To some, above might look like getting normal pieces of advice from friends and relatives, to me in most cases it always felt like I'm depending on someone else's approval over my ideas and actions. It feels pretty awesome to finally be the only person to judge things I do even before I begin doing them.

I'm half tempted to try and fiddle with it, but I have too much else to do, honestly.
Genie: You have ONE WISH.
Me: Alright, I have one, but it's very detailed.
Genie: As long as it is only one wish, you're allowed to spend as much time as you want detailing it.
Me: Alright, here we go. *Grabs notebook and takes a deep breath* The key words MUST, MUST NOT, REQUIRED, SHALL, SHALL NOT, SHOULD, SHOULD NOT, RECOMMENDED, MAY, and OPTIONAL are to be interpreted as described in [RFC2119].
Genie: Wait, is that...?
Me: *Flips notebook* Chapter 1. Preamble.
