Fun fact: MS-DOS was modelled after CP/M was modelled after DEC RT-11. Here's a video of the RT-11 operating system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaD9JCqGyjU
Those commands look extremely similar to MS-DOS to me. I found an RT-11 manual, and many of the familiar commands like TYPE, RENAME and FORMAT are there. On UNIX and friends, those would be cat, mv and mkfs. Also, RT-11 uses slashes for command switches, just like DOS, while UNIX and friends use single and double dashes.
it's kind of sad how much did I learn in the past few years (technology-wise, kinda coding-related) comparing it to the length of the `rest` of the way where I'd be able to do tech things for a living. Geez, why those things are so hard ;_;
man, i love it when the only results you can find online for a tech issue are like 11 year old forum threads filled with "im also having this same issue can anyone help????"
Waiting for the day I can download a house and a car
