Does the gov track citizens like in UK, US or Germany? What about wages for jobs that a student can take? I've heard that there's a lot of musicians in Amsterdam. Is it true? I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Mastodon, is in fact a frontend for OStatus and ActivityPub, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, ActivityPub-Mastodon.
Mastodon is not a social network unto itself, but rather another free component of a federated network made useful by many people running instances for said network.
