Not sure if I've posted a photo of the new soldering station that arrived today. Anyway, here it is

My timeline is a bizarre medley of technical rambling, cute anime girls, highly diverse discussions about politics, people talking about shows and movies, and discussions of a far more personal nature. And shitposting.

We did it! WE REPLACED TWITTER COMPLETELY.

Are there scripts to grab all of your followers from a mastodon instance?

Coworkers are talking about having stock in FB. Someone mentioned Diaspora and got light chuckles. Since when did our choice in social media become a way of (light) bullying? Why is social media a form of social signalling?

Hey everyone! As you might know already, a.weirder.earth suffered a catastrophic hardware failure, taking us down for about 2 weeks and forcing us to move to a completely new instance.

A lot of us (myself included) didn't back up our follows either. So we're very much on square one.

How you can help:

- Contribute to #ff (follow friday) tomorrow. Everyone could do with the follow suggestions.
- Check your follows. If anyone is from 'a.weirder.earth', refollow them on 'weirder.earth'.

Thanks!

damn I've been coding rigorously for 12+ hours these past days, I need to cool my brain off

man I started doing this complicated solution, only to realize the real solution was so much simpler. this is what happens when you context switch projects too fast I guess

Huh at least they offered fine-grained preferences, and (fairly) clearly separate their promotional content from their actual comms

I really love when I click an email unsubscribe link and it sends me to a page with JS, just to marke myself as unsubscribing...
