never quite got the difference between dough and batter, it's both Teig in german

In Norway Dough is called Deig (germanic, aye)
And Batter is Røre

Not sure there's a literal way to explain the meaning of Røre, but the closest english words are probably "Concoction" or "Solution", except Røre generally refers specifically to liquid ones.
@lis Basically if you pour it out on a table and it stays as a ball, it's dough. If it turns into a puddle and ruins your kitchen floor, it's batter
