#occult & #classicalmusic folk:
The game I'm writing involves Aleksandr Scriabin's mystical & occult ideas.
I've had a hard time finding sources about them that are reliable and sort of mid-level (i.e., neither exaggerated & shallow for a general audience nor so academic as to be accessible only to scholars in the field of anthrosophy-influenced russian mystical composers).
Any suggestions?
@saper
Not enough to matter, no.
(Two semesters of intro russian 5 years ago, so I can basically just sound out cyrillic slowly and say "Я хоцет блини".)
@saper
If you've got russian-language sources, I *do* have several specialist russian dictionaries & some grammar books so I could probably figure out some of it. (Though my russian dictionaries are mostly for STEM fields)
@enkiv2 it's mostly about ability to quickly glance over the sources without bothering translation tools or dictionaries. I can ask also my Russian friends.
@enkiv2 I'd start with http://prometheus.kai.ru/skriab_e.htm (maybe a whole site is worth having a quick look) and Wikipedia's references https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BA%D1%80%D1%8F%D0%B1%D0%B8%D0%BD,_%D0%90%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D1%80_%D0%9D%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87#%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B5%D1%87%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F
(For context, I have some familiarity with the western occult tradition but my familiarity with anthrosophy is mostly limited to very vague ideas about theosophy, & I don't have any musical background.)
@enkiv2 do you read any Russian?
