@dctewi It's good practice, tbh.
You don't always have your IDE's tools when you publish your code to a development server, so this remains the most reliable debugging method.

Gotta write your own Log class though, don't be lazy.
Route the output to a log file, attach an email, and always, ALWAYS, time stamp!

@dctewi oh my god, it's like they've never heard of a debugger, let alone tracepoints. and half the people i work with are scared of Wireshark too. wtf are they teaching kids these days?
