So what are my Android alternatives again? Don't really like Apple much either.

@nivex LineageOS is an Android fork, a continuation of CyanogenMod. Lets you not have Google Play Services, but still means that whatever idea google comes up to make Android more shitty and more resource-heavy will affect you.

PostmarketOS is an attempt to make a new lightweight Linux-based system for phones. It's very WIP, supports like 20 phone models, out of which calling and SMS only work on Nokia N900. So long ways to go.

@Wolf480pl @nivex There is also SailfishOS, community ports there: https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybris

There is also other stuff based on libhybris like Plasma Mobile but they have even less devices.
@mareklach @nivex @Wolf480pl From what I see in the video it seems to be QtMobile based too, also SailfishOS is developed by Jolla, which is pretty much independent too.

@lanodan @mareklach @nivex but SailfishOS frontend is proprietary.

@Wolf480pl @nivex @mareklach But removable, Glacier is pretty much the same UI and it’s from Mer Project which is what SailfishOS is based on/participating-in.
